Bob Pace with orphansIn 2002, an entrepreneurial leader named Bob Pace came up with a visionary idea with huge possibilities; establishment of a 501(C)3 humanitarian care and learning organization that could assist the poor in third world developing countries and at the same time serve as a model and impetus for raising awareness of the poor in the United States as well.

Today, that visionary seed has germinated, sprouted and developed into an International light of hope called People for Care and Learning (PCL).

PCL is “Inspiring hope and Empowering Potential” for orphans, widows, broken families and persons with little or no hope. In addition, PCL is giving the poor a working chance by the establishment of vocational training and micro-enterprise development.

In just a few short years PCL has provided viable assistance throughout Southeast Asia as well as the local community by establishing orphanages, feeding centers, medical centers, vocational training institutes, widows care, learning centers, playgrounds, homes, medical and dental care, and leadership training schools. In the U.S., PCL initiated a humanitarian drive that raised more than $130,000 for disaster relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Dr. Fred Garmon joined the PCL staff in 2004 and transitioned into the International Executive Director and President in 2006. (see Director’s Message). He invites you to join him on an "Insight & Awareness Tour" and experience the joy of giving back while at the same time enjoying a vacation with significance.
